San bruno welcomes padoca brazilian bakery
Please join us in welcoming Padoca Brazilian Bakery to downtown San Bruno!
Tucked into 445 San Mateo Avenue, Padoca is the passion project of owners Pedro and Germana Brandão, who grew up immersed in the bakery culture of Brazil — in fact, "padoca" is Brazilian slang for the neighborhood bakery, the kind of place where everybody knows your order.
What started as Pedro's home baking for the Bay Area's Brazilian community has grown into San Bruno's newest sweet spot, and by all accounts it's already a hit, with lines forming before the doors even open.
Step inside and you'll find authentic favorites like pão de queijo (chewy tapioca cheese bread), coxinha (a savory chicken-filled pastry), bolo de rolo, and bolo de cenoura (carrot cake with chocolate glaze), alongside espresso drinks, a Brazilian cappuccino, and a Nutella macchiato for the sweet tooths among us.
The cozy 25-seat space is decorated with tropical touches and a wall reading "Brasilidade" — the spirit of being Brazilian — bringing a genuine taste of Brazil to San Mateo Avenue. We're thrilled to welcome this family-owned gem to our downtown community, and we encourage everyone to stop by, say hello, and try something new. Welcome to the neighborhood, Padoca!
